When Gubbet was a youngin', he got into all sorts of trouble. He and five of his friends: Beörk , Brock, Dvev, Nebble, and Yildred called themselves the Righteous Five. They frequently engaged in petty crime, stealing trinkets from passing merchants and picking pockets. Gubbet found himself spending time in jail more than once. On one occasion the gang decided to poke around a hill giant camp that had appeared near town. The group waited until nightfall and descended on the camp while the giants were asleep and snuck inside. With their nimble and practiced fingers the rifled through the giants' belongings, finding several surprisingly well-made items. After a few minutes of finding for whatever there was to find, the group heard a low humiming noise that was unfamiliar to them. Assuming it was a giant waking up, they all ran back into the forest from which they came. As they ran, they could hear giants wake, animals squeal, and wood crack.
Gubbet made it back to his home and let out a sigh of relief. He sat down and examined what he had collected and found that they were covered in strange runes. While doing so, a piglet nudged his door open. Gubbet set down the knife he was looking at and picked up the scared little pig and comforted it. He would call her Gurge and she would become his best friend.
Gubbet has been spending his days since that night in his home, tending to an apple orchard. He and the other members of the Righteous Five stopped with their thievery and settled down.He lives at the end of Fisner road where he tends to his orchard and carves wood. He tends to keep to himself, but occasionally goes into town and talks to Yildred the grocer or Celeron the toolsmith. The weather or recent happenings of the town always make engaging topics of conversation.
